wow! you are going to love bangkok, if not for the street style but the whole culture and experience-its mind blowing. check out chatuchak market, happy monday bar and this gorgeous japanese cafe and art bookstore in sukhumvit called vanilla garden. siam square is where all the young kids hang out. im actually from malaysia and i dont mean to be a traitor to my countrymen but dont have to waste your time planning a trip here. bangkok gets my vote.

Bangkok's a great place for fashion. And it's super fun too so that's a great stop.

No offense to our Singaporean friends but Sing is a pretty dull city fashion-wise. Everyone seems to dress in a particular manner (and it aint just the flip flops and tank tops).

Manila's crazy, but a lot of fun. You just gotta know where to go. Visit Manila and be sure to hit up Cecile Van Straten (chuvaness) and Bryanboy.

Kuala Lumpur is okay. Some decent shopping there. But again, gotta go to the more "liberal" areas.

jakarta is super interesting but you gotta have some to bring you around because its impossible to get by on your own. if you are ever considering indonesia get in touch with this chick: http://www.myspace.com/iloveglam

kuala lumpur is boring, even though you got some interesting characters around they are scarce in comparison to all the tryhards, label whores and the 'shorts, slippers and t shirts' variety.

manila also is quite boring, just like kuala lumpur, very much a 't shirt and jeans' kinda country but i guess if you look hard enough you could find a few gems.

bangkok is great. but the language barrier is a big problem. most of them have trouble conversing in english so you have to resort to a lot of hand gestures. lol.

singapore is the most developed SEA country of the lot and lots of young people there are into their fashion. fabulous public transport, you wont have trouble with language everyone there speaks perfect english. super clean.

oops, i meant you need to bring SOMEONE around to guide you in jakarta.

Aw, it's not all that hot in Singapore this time of the year. Pretty decent weather recently! And it's not too difficult to find classy dressers, either. Granted, we're better known for our food..

singapore is definitely a fine city in all ways.

its clean.
its safe.(the security here sure is tight.)
no air pollution.
a developed country.
good transport system.
old and modern infrastructure.
good museums.
short time travelling from one place to another.
good service.
cosmopolitan.
many different races and cultures.

GOOD FOOD. you must try the food here! the varities due to multi races will blow you away... the must trys are hianese chicken rice(SUPER NICE!!!!)(chinese), roti prata(indian) the prata here is very different from the others and satay(malay) something like karbab but slighty different. and last but not least the definitely must try.... PANDAN CAKE. its a sponge cake that is light and is addded with pandan to create that distinct flavour. most tourists and celebrities from all over the world has totally fall in love with this local delicacy. try it and you'll know. trust me. you will definitely regret if you dont't. its so good.

in all, hope you have fun in singapore. do check out the malls here too. hope you could bring back some good hunts. all the best!

katee, singapore.

Hey, going to Bangkok is not the best idea right now... Anti-government protesters have closed the Internationl airport, things are not safe around there:

Gosh, I am kinda disappointed that you just bypassed Malaysia on your way from Singapore to Bangkok. Yet, I dare not recommend Kuala Lumpur to you.

You'd be totally disappointed and leave with no photos to show. Most Malaysians either take pride in having zero fashion sense or are conceited in following trends blindly. Individuality is practically zilch.

But if you've got the time, do come for the food! No sunny beaches now because of the perpetual rain :)
